Technical Specialist – Network




As a Technical Specialist (Network), you will be part of Technical Assistance Center (TAC), reporting to the Director of Managed Services. You will provide technical support via phone, email, and remote access to customer sites where solutions are deployed; and proactively manage and monitor customer environments. You will work directly with customers or indirectly through the advice you will provide toothers in the TAC. Youwill join a team withthe responsibility of mentorship, knowledge transfer, supporting, planning, designing and acceptance sign-off while building network infrastructure solutions for FlexITy and its Customers.


  • Manage and monitor customer  environments from  FlexITy’s Technical  Assistance  Centre (TAC) environment
  • Monitor customer requests for incident creation and updates
  • Complete ticket work, solving any network related technical issues for customers within the agreedupon Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Look holistically  at  incidents  and work  with  a  team to  solve  complex  technical  issues encompassing hardware, software, systems and storage
  • Recognize when customer issues need to be escalatedand work with higher tier of technical support through to incident resolution
  • Compile data gathered through ticket work in the TAC to create articles for  the internal knowledge base
  • Participate  in   researching   and   recommending   tools   for   assessments,   testing   and troubleshooting
  • Acquire and maintain technical certifications essential to the business needs and business certification levels

  • Organization support – Follow  policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks on time; support organization’sgoals and values


  • 5 to 7 years’ experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewallsand protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPFand Layer 2 switching
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience with configuring and troubleshooting Security appliances including Cisco ASA, FTD, ISE and
  • Past experience working directlywiththe customer in handling incidents andalertsgenerated by customer and customer environments respectively
  • Solid knowledge of Cisco and familiarity of Juniper product lines
  • Experience working on PaloAlto, Fortinet and CheckPoint product lines
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of network design, network architecture, protocols, and networktopology
  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pacedenvironment andability to learnnew technology quickly
  • Must have excellent communicationskills in English in order tocommunicate withemployees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize actions amidst a wide arrayof concurrent requirements
  • Due to the nature of a 24×7 operation, shift work will be required
  • Ability to work flexible hours is a must
  • The incumbent must be in possession of:
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Including Outlook and Visio)
    • CCNP certification level
    • CCIE R&S/SP/Security (preferred; must be prepared to pursue)
    • Fortinet/PaloAlto and Checkpoint certifications
    • ITIL certified (preferred)
