The Systems Administrator is responsible for operating, organizing, and supporting the company’s hybrid cloud environment.  Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role as we transition away from many on-premises systems and applications to a cloud first mode built around Microsoft Azure, O365.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports applications built on Microsoft Office 365 (including SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, PowerAutomate, Forms, etc.) and other technology platforms.
  • Provides direct problem resolution/help desk support to corporate office and remote user systems for tickets/issues related to any M365 products/apps/services
  • Creates, implements, manages (update and improve), and revise Active Directory/Azure AD policies
  • Document changes made using the ITIL Change Process
  • Install, configure, and manage software and network servers (where appropriate). This can be public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) of Microsoft 365, Azure (Core and productivity) for the company
  • Ensures that solutions, processes, and business knowledge is documented and communicated to other members of the technology team to mitigate single point of contact risk
  • Maintains security and operational readiness by monitoring the system for potential vulnerabilities, identifying risks, and take actions to mitigate them
  • Manages, supports, and provides technical expertise for all Office 365 applications including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure AD, Office Web Apps, Stream, Power BI, Power Apps, MS Forms, Project Online, Security and Compliance, etc.
  • Writes and maintains custom scripts (PowerShell) to install new settings or deployments and remediate issues to support users.
  • Be a key participant in the Change Advisory Board Panel.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Administrate infrastructure, including security software, remote access and other processes
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (preferred).
  • MCSE (Core infrastructure, productivity preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience with Windows.
  • Experience with a range of different environments in both size and technologies.
  • Experience managing a team is an asset but not required.

Other Technologies / Knowledge

  • VMware experience is an asset
  • MAC OS experience
